Verbal Forms with the Affixes ‘-ды’ and ‘-ған’ in the Bashkir Language

Abstract.
The research objective involves clarifying linguistic nature of verbal forms with the affixes ‘-ды’ and ‘-ған’ (and their phonetic variants) in the Bashkir language. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that grammemes with the affixes ‘-ды’ and ‘-ған’ are for the first time examined from the viewpoint of functional grammar. The conducted research allows concluding that in the Bashkir language, verbal forms with the affixes ‘-ды’ and ‘-ған’ contain a combined (collaborative) temporal-aspectual-evidential meaning. The forms under study differ in perfect semantics: a verbal form with the affix ‘-ған’ contains a perfect meaning, and a verbal form with the affix ‘-ды’ contains no such meaning.
