Role of Translation Transformations in Solving the Problem of Interlingual Asymmetry and Translation Mistakes (by the Example of the English Language)

Abstract.
The paper aims to determine the role of translation transformations in solving the problem of interlingual asymmetry. The article examines typical translation mistakes associated with interlingual asymmetry, shows the role of translation transformations in overcoming these difficulties. By the material of the English-Russian translations, the author analyses translation mistakes, identifies cases of interlingual asymmetry, suggests ways to overcome it, wherein lies scientific originality of the study. Relying on the findings, the author concludes that translation mistakes occur as a result of interlingual asymmetry. The role of translation transformations in solving this problem is revealed.
