Evaluative Semantics of Compound Nominations of Person in the German Language (by the Example of the Neologism ‘der Russlandversteher’ “Russia-Friendly Person”)

Abstract. The paper aims to describe compound nominations of a person in the German language. The article considers the structure and semantic features of the German nominal compounds, examines the functioning of the lexeme ‘der Russlandversteher’ (Russia-friendly person) in the modern German publicistic discourse. Scientific originality of the study involves analysing a newly appeared neologism widely used in the German political speech. The research findings are as follows: the author reveals the evaluative potential of the German nominal compounds, describes the usage of the neologism ‘der Russlandversteher’ in context, analyses difficulties when translating this lexical unit into Russian.
