Abstract.
The paper aims to reveal peculiarities of the ‘anger’ emotion verbalization in the English language. To achieve this research objective, the authors reveal content of the lexico-semantic field ANGER. The research tasks are as follows: to provide an etymological and definitional analysis of the lexeme ‘anger’, to explore the synonymic row with the dominant ‘anger’, to examine the lexico-semantic field ANGER. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the English lexical units verbalizing the emotion ‘anger’ are subdivided into lexico-semantic groups. The research findings are as follows: the authors reveal etymological characteristics of the lexeme ‘anger’, explore the synonymic row with the dominant ‘anger’, analyse the lexico-semantic field ANGER which includes 63 lexical units.
