Abstract.
The aim of the study is to identify the specifics of zoological terminology development in the first half of the 30s of the XX century - the period of intensive growth of the terminology in the Tatar language. The scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that for the first time in the Tatar language, basing on the study of term formation, generic relations, synonymy, variance, identification of the borrowings corpus, the most informative and productive term models are determined. The results obtained showed that, despite the increase in international influence, the method of forming new units using the means of the native language remains the main one. The traditional derivational model of the defined component + generic component becomes stable and highly productive in scientific terminology.
