Abstract. The aim of the study is to identify the specifics of the means of feedback expression in the oral form in German as a type of verbal evaluative interaction in professional communication. The scientific novelty of the paper lies in using a multimodal approach to determining linguistic and non-linguistic means of feedback expression in German. The capabilities of multimodal analysis make it possible to take into account both auditory speech data and visual information during speech, such as facial expressions and gestures. The results have shown that feedback occupies an important position in the process of business communication, serves as a regulator in professional relationships. Feedback has characteristic features, structure and is qualitatively different from praise or criticism. Multimodal analysis involving native speakers allows the researcher to obtain data on the dominant means for expressing the studied intention. From the perspective of linguistic means, this intention is perceived as a complex of phonetic and lexico-syntactic markers. The paper also presents an analysis of nonverbal and proxemic signs of feedback and a list of emotional meanings accompanying its expression.
