Abstract.
The reviewed book by O. V. Shalygina explores the concept of rhythm in prose fiction. Using examples from Russian literature, philosophy, and criticism of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the ontological and teleological aspects of artistic rhythm are highlighted. The author presents a system for analyzing the author’s personal conception of time, whose functioning rhythmic fractals are demonstrated in descriptions of the structure of time and artistic space in the texts of M. Voloshin, M. Tsvetaeva, L. Andreev, and A. Bely.
