Abstract.
The article is devoted to the problem of child and adolescent maturation and self-realization of a child, which is significant for modern Russian literature, based on the material of the latest Russian children's literature. The purpose of the study is to identify the peculiarities and features of the growing up process of a pre-adolescent child in the story "Cookies with the Taste of Music" by the modern child and adolescent writer E. E. Bodrova. The scientific originality is determined by the research material itself, that is the novel by E. Bodrova's "Cookies with the Taste of Music", which had not previously become the subject of special scientific understanding and was introduced by us into scientific circulation. As a result, it was found that, firstly, from the point of view of composition, the process of maturation of the heroine in E. Bodrova's story is subordinated to the archetypal motive of initiation (the stadiality of the character's path, the presence of a mentor, gradual inner formation with typical "growing pains" for a pre-adolescent child). Secondly, the predominant stages of the main character's maturation on a personal, social, and creative-professional level are: a maximalist rejection of the changes taking place, a rebellious challenge to family and society, voluntary loneliness and isolation for independent reflection on the problem, the search for a way out of the current situation. Thirdly, gastronomic, coloristic and olfactory codes become the means of creating key images and mise en scene.
