Abstract.
This article analyzes the novel "The House of Troubles" by the Chechen writer K. Ibragimov, dedicated to the theme of the collapse of the Soviet Union and the subsequent global socio-economic and political changes in Chechen-Ingushetia. To depict the most complex period of Chechen history, the author turned to the artistic paradigm of postmodernism, which is a new creative strategy in national prose. The aim of the research is to identify the genre features of the novel. The article examines the following criteria that determine the genre of a literary text: the choice of topic and the posing of the problem, structure, features of reflecting the author's position, the concept of personality, the language and style of the work, and the originality of the artistic method. The scientific originality of the research lies in the fact that, for the first time, the genre features of K. Ibragimov's landmark work are considered from the standpoint of modern literary criticism. The proposed model of multi-level analysis of a literary text can become the basis for further research on the Chechen postmodern novel. The results obtained showed that the novel belongs to the genre invariant of historical prose, while there is a departure from the classical realistic form, expressed in the absence of names of real historical characters, an ironic or exaggeratedly reduced description of military events, and the absence of a positive character. It has also been revealed that the structural and stylistic features of the novel mark the emergence of a new artistic trend in national prose.
