Variability of the speech genre of the intellectual game show in terms of stylistic differences

Abstract.
This study examines the problem of variability in speech genres from a stylistic perspective, using the genre of the intellectual game show as its material. The aim of the research is to identify the stylistic features of genre variants of the intellectual game show. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that it presents, for the first time, a description of the genre variants of the intellectual game show in a stylistic aspect, based on the identification of key types of intellectual game as a communicative event, within the context of which the speech genre of the intellectual game show is realized. The research has established that the intra-genre variability of the intellectual game show in a stylistic aspect is reflected in the ratio of the use of elements from popular science, journalistic styles, colloquial speech, and forms of non-literary language. If, in an "authentic" intellectual game, elements of popular science and journalistic styles predominate due to the communicative goal of popularizing humanities knowledge, then in a "peripheral" game, manifestations of colloquial speech and forms of non-codified literary language dominate, which is due to the aim of entertainment and creating a positive mood. A "complementary" intellectual game is characterized by the functioning of units of colloquial speech, while it also embodies features of the popular science style, since there is a combination of communicative settings characteristic of "authentic" and "peripheral" intellectual games.
