Russian prose in literary and artistic collections of the Yakut book publishing house (1950s-1960s)

Abstract.
The aim of the study is to identify the relationship between the artistic and ideological features of prose texts by Russian writers, published in literary collections in Yakutia in the 1950s-1960s, and the socio-political situation that developed in the country during this decade. Literary and artistic collections represent a common type of publication that includes works of various genres and literary forms. The artistic texts published in such collections are usually small in volume and belong to several authors. Often, such collections feature works written over a certain period, thus enabling tracing the main trends characteristic of the literary process of that period. The scientific novelty of the research is related to the fact that literary and artistic collections of the Yakut Publishing House have rarely been the subject of scientific interest, and Russian prose within them has not been considered at all as a separate problem for study. The article identifies, for the first time, the periods when literary and artistic collections were most in demand in publishing practice, determines the circle of authors who regularly participated in the collections, and studies the genre and thematic features of their prose texts. The article analyzes the change in thematic and genre preferences among the authors of prose texts, which are associated with the socio-political processes that took place in Soviet society. The study shows that the literary and artistic collections published in the 1950s-1960s reflected the main trends in the development of Russian prose during the late Stalinist era and the "Thaw", and they played an important role in the formation of Russian literature in Yakutia.
