Abstract. The textbook by L. V. Zubova is intended for summarizing the information on the history of the Russian language and consolidating the knowledge of philology students in the field of paleo-Russian studies. The book contains a variety of material that can be used in the process of lectures and practical classes, when conducting special courses and electives on historical grammar, history of the Russian literary language, historical stylistics, and philological analysis of the text. The author of the textbook paid special attention to 18th-century literature, the analysis of archaic phenomena in the field of poetic vocabulary and grammar.
