Value meanings in the space-time coordinates of M. Yu. Lermontov’s tale “Ashik-Kerib”: a linguocognitive aspect

Abstract.
Space and time, being universal forms of existence, dialectically interact, which is reflected in the linguistic picture of the world: the category of locativity and the category of temporality reveal complex multi-level correlations. Correct interpretation of the value meanings of a literary text is possible on the basis of the realization of such meanings in space-time coordinates and their embodiment in a concrete event. The study aims to substantiate the formation and functioning of the value meanings of a literary text in space-time coordinates. Using M. Yu. Lermontov’s tale “Ashik-Kerib” as research material, the paper identifies the linguocognitive mechanisms of structuring the value picture of the world fixed in the conceptual model of a tale of foreign cultural origin by means of the Russian language. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the value meanings realized in the eventfulness of a literary text are considered in their space-time embodiment within the conditioning of the ethnic value picture of the world and the tale’s conceptual model. As a result, it has been established that the linguistic-cognitive organization of a literary text is largely determined by the space-time coordinates of the value meanings that are formed and function within the eventfulness of the artistic reality.
