Abstract.
The research aims to construct a comparative structural-semantic model of the concept КЪАДЫН/WOMAN to reveal its universal content and ethno-cultural specifics in Crimean Tatar and English linguistic worldviews. The article examines the lexical representatives that form the core (key, invariant features) and the periphery (variable, contextually determined associations) of the concept under study within the two linguistic cultures. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that it is the first one to describe and systematize the lexical units that manifest the core and the peripheral zones of the concept КЪАДЫН/WOMAN based on Crimean Tatar and English language material. The results of the study establish that in both languages, the structure of the specified concept contains lexical units reflecting a wide range of roles, qualities, and associations related to the perception of women. Within the structure and content of the studied concept, the author identifies the core zone and its segments (biological, gender, reproductive, and social) along with their linguistic representatives, as well as the peripheral zone. The latter is divided into the near periphery, including segments such as positive physical attributes and inner qualities of women and their linguistic representatives, and the far periphery, which represents negative traits and their linguistic manifestation. The findings of the work allow for the identification of both universal and specific features in the perception of the image of a woman in Crimean Tatar and English linguistic worldviews.
