SPEECH PORTRAIT OF SCHNITZLER’S SMALL PROSE HEROES

Abstract. In the article the linguistic features of speech of small prose heroes of the Austrian writer A. Schnitzler whose creative work was at the end of XIX century - the beginning of the XX century are considered. Schnitzler was the member of the writers’ group "Young Vienna" where Hermann Bahr was the ideological leader. "Young Vienna" writers were sure that it was very important to point out "the really Austrian" (H. Bahr) that filled their literature and to emphasize its originality and independence with respect to the German literature. This tendency was introduced in the creative heritage of A. Schnitzler, in the first place at the level of heroes’ speech portrait that got the appropriate "colouring" subject to social position and familiarity degree of heroes.
