Abstract. The article analyzes the Chuvash names of various trees and flowers which have a philosophical meaning, are the symbols (in artistic works), as well as express the philosophical understanding and patriarchal-patrimonial relations of the Chuvash (in the traditional culture and folklore). The Chuvash prose of the XX century conveniently demonstrates the natural connection of the artistic verbal creativity and folklore. Phytonyms in literature both deepen the idea of ??the work and contribute to the philosophical, psychological interpretation of a variety of experiences, emotional states of characters. Particular attention is paid to the identification of the philosophical and aesthetic parallels between the world view of a separate writer and the collective consciousness of people.
