INTERACTION OF CENTRAL AND PERIPHERAL LANGUAGE VARIANTS AS A BASIS OF LANGUAGE GAME

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the specifics of English and Russian language game based on the interaction of central and peripheral language variants. The study is carried out by the material of anecdote genre. The paper focuses on the grammatical, phonetic and lexical peculiarities of the territorial variants of Russian which were represented in the Russian anecdotes. The author identifies lexical, phonetic and grammatical peculiarities of the American and Australian English and the regional variants (cockney in Great Britain, Afro-American English in the USA) used while creating language game in the English anecdotes.
