PREDICATES AS A MEANS OF ARTISTIC IMAGE CREATION (BY THE MATERIAL OF A. PLATONOV’S NOVEL "THE FOUNDATION PIT")

Abstract. The article is devoted to the description of the methodology of predicates analysis as a way of studying the character’s image in literary texts. As an example the author analyzes the predicates used to create the images of Voshchev and Chiklin, the characters of A. Platonov’s novel "The Foundation Pit". The predicates description is based on their classification, developed by the author of the article. As the study shows, the proposed method of analysis allows characterizing the personages and describing the system of images of the work.
