THE MECHANISM OF CRITICISM IN THE SPORTS AND NEWS MATERIALS OF THE SPANISH NEWSPAPERS

Abstract. The article deals with sports and news texts in the Spanish press. The purpose of the analysis is to identify the diversity of mechanisms of criticism in these texts, aimed at the professional activity of athletes. The analysis focuses on the specificity of the vocabulary that supports the selected critical mechanisms. It also identifies informational and emotional weight of supra-phrasal unity, in which the critical mechanism is implemented. The conclusion is made about synergistic effect when using several critical mechanisms in the same text.
