Abstract. The article examines the structure of the Adyghe sentences with adverbial participles having its own subject different from the subject of principle predicate. The paper analyzes different strata of linguistic material and summarizes the different, often contradictory views of the specialists in Caucasian studies on the problem. Relying on the findings the authors conclude that the Adyghe adverbial participle and verbal adverb phrase acquire the status of subordinate clause depending on the existence of its own predicative center and regardless of whether it has its own subject. The analyzed verbal form is characterized by the absence of predicative center.
Key words and phrases: простое и сложное предложения, придаточные предложения, члены предложения, субъект действия, предикативность, финитные и инфинитные глаголы, отглагольные образования, деепричастие и деепричастный оборот, simple and compound sentence, subordinate clauses, sentence members, agent, predicativity, finite and infinite verbs, verbal formations, adverbial participle and verbal adverb phrase
