PEASANT IMAGES IN A. N. RADISHCHEV’S "JOURNEY FROM PETERSBURG TO MOSCOW" AS A MEANS OF PATRIOTIC EDUCATION

Abstract. The article considers the basic peasant images created by A. N. Radishchev in "Journey from Petersburg to Moscow" as a means of patriotic education. By the material of this literary work the paper discovers the importance of an image and a myth to preserve the traditions. The author shows the role of these images when transferring the Russian national traditions to the younger generation by means of esthetic cognition and proposes practical recommendations to organize the study of these images among the schoolchildren in the context of their patriotic education.
