INTEGRATIVE MODEL TO FORM TRANSLATOR’S SOCIOCULTURAL COMPETENCE AT NONLINGUISTIC HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENT WHEN TEACHING PROFESSIONALLY ORIENTED TRANSLATION IN THE SUBJECT AREA "GEOLOGY"

Abstract. The article proposes an integrative model to form sociocultural competence of the translator of professionally oriented texts in the subject area "Geology". Theoretical justification of the proposed model is provided. The efficiency of the model is proved by the results of experimental teaching carried out at Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. It showed that the use of the developed methodology when teaching translation of sociocultural information, concepts promotes students’ more purposeful training for future professional activity.
