Abstract. The article discusses one of the urgent problems of terminology - the formation of terminology systems of the mixed type (secondary systems of terminology). The paper analyses the points of view of philosophers and linguists on the conditionality of the processes of borrowed terms formation, which are the basis for the construction of secondary systems of terminology. Using the example of analysing secondary systems of law terminology, the author reveals linguistic and extralinguistic factors that influence the development of new systems of terminology, semantic processes, and, consequently, the most general trends in the formation of modern secondary systems of terminology as a whole.
Key words and phrases: термин, привлеченный термин, вторичные терминосистемы, дефиниции, значение, term, borrowed term, secondary systems of terminology, definitions, meaning
