PHENOMENON OF ETERNAL MYSTERIOUSNESS OF NATURE IN EMILY DICKINSON’S CREATIVE WORK

Abstract. The article analyses comprehensive perception of nature in the creative work of one of the most famous American poetesses - Emily Dickinson. The study aims to identify specific interpretation of the theme of nature in E. Dickinson’s poems written at different periods of her creative development. E. Dickinson’s nature lyrics are subjected to detailed linguistic and semantic analysis. Special attention is paid to the poems where nature is depicted as an incomprehensible force. Possible motives for the appearance of such "phenomenon of mysteriousness" are examined. Finally, the author concludes that E. Dickinson perceives nature as a system, the structure of which is often beyond human understanding.
