Abstract. "Noun + postposition" phrases (postpositional cases) are an essential element of the Turkic grammatical system. The paper aims to identify and classify the Tatar postpositional constructions with the postposition ‘бел?н’. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in the Tatar linguistics, the authors present the most comprehensive description of the Tatar postpositional constructions with the postposition ‘бел?н’. Relying on the conducted analysis, the researchers identify the following casal meanings: comitative, instrumental, objective and adverbial. The subjective meaning is considered peripheral due to substantial lexico-grammatical restrictions. The authors show that the semantic meaning of the Tatar postpositional constructions with the postposition ‘бел?н’ is determined by semantic meanings of the governing predicate and adjacent nouns.
Key words and phrases: татарский язык, послелог, комитатив, аналитический падеж, семантика, Tatar language, postposition, comitative, analytical case, semantics
