ONTOLOGICAL AND EPISTEMOLOGICAL DILEMMAS IN MODERN PHILOSOPHY OF CHEMISTRY

Abstract. The author considers the problems of the interconnection between philosophy and the history of chemistry, the philosophical problems associated with chemistry transition to the study of self-organizing evolving systems, pays particular attention to the problem of chemistry reduction to physics, suggests its new solution, shows that chemical interactions have a specificity, exceeding the capabilities of their description in terms of quantum mechanics, and substantiates that the reason for the impossibility of chemistry ontological and epistemological reduction to physics is the conception of ontological pluralism by H. Patnam.
