FOUNDATION OF THE RUSSIAN CORPS OF ENGINEERS BY PETER I IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE XVIII CENTURY

Abstract. The article pays special attention to the coverage of the process of the foundation of the Russian Military Corps of Engineers in the first quarter of the XVIII century. Basing on the analysis of archival and other sources the author clarifies some issues related to the personnel and organizational-staff structure of the Engineering Corps and divisions in its composition. In this paper previously unpublished archival and other sources are introduced into scientific circulation.
