COAL MINING AS ONE OF THE KEY FACTORS OF MILITARY ECONOMY OF NAZI GERMANY (BY THE MATERIALS OF CAPTURED DOCUMENTS OF THE RUSSIAN STATE MILITARY ARCHIVE FOR 1937-1942)

Abstract. The article examines the issues of the development of the coal mining sector of Nazi Germany in the years of the World War II till 1943. For the first time the analysis of coal mining in the military economy of Germany is conducted by documents earlier not published and not examined by historians. The author proves that the German coal mining went through the crisis before the war in spite of its large volume. It is stated that at the beginning of the war significant coal and energy consumption was due to the civil sector in Nazi Germany.
