Abstract. The article considers problems in the sphere of relations between the Russian Federation and its constituent entities. The author analyzes the features of the implementation of the principle of the vertical separation of powers within the existing legal framework. The necessity of making appropriate changes and amendments to the legislation is revealed and substantiated. Basing on the research the author proposes to extend the legislative powers of the constituent entities of Russia, to eliminate the gaps of ??the constitutional law in the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation and the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and to regulate the mechanism of conciliation.
