DELIBERATIVE DEMOCRACY AS A VARIANT OF OVERCOMING CRISIS OF DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS

Abstract. The article analyses the deliberative model of democracy, which became popular in theoretical-politological and philosophical discussions at the end of the XX century. The cause is changes in the structure of mass social consciousness, the increase of the requirements of the citizens of democratic countries, and also the crisis of democratic institutions that has developed in many western countries. The deliberative model offers a possible scenario of the development of democratic countries, which allows minimizing the consequences of the crisis by widening citizens’ participation.
