Abstract. The article analyzes the historical aspects of the sociocultural integration of the North Caucasian peoples into the Russian society. The relevance of this problem is stipulated by the influence of historical context on the current situation in the sphere of inter-ethnic and sociocultural relations. The contents of the paper might be of interest to Caucasiologists, specialists engaged in the study of the issues of sociocultural integration in historical and contemporary context, the problems of the construction of all-Russian identity and national idea.
