ORIGIN AND DEVELOPMENT OF AMERICAN-RUSSIAN RELATIONS IN THE FIELD OF MUSIC CULTURE IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX - THE EARLY XX CENTURY

Vozilova Ekaterina Anatol'evna
Oryol State University

Abstract. The article discusses the development of American-Russian cultural relations in the late XIX - the early XX century. The interaction of the two great powers since the second half of the XIX century marked a new era in the history of political and socio-economic relations. Basing on sources and publications from the United States and Russia the author reveals many new details about cultural and scientific contacts between the two countries putting forward a hypothesis of the multiplicity of factors that have affected the evolution of the American-Russian dialogue. Thus, the first diplomatic, cultural and personal relations between the two countries were more intense than it has been previously reported.
