THE ALL-RUSSIAN CONGRESS OF THE CLERGY AND THE LAITY IN 1917 ON REQUISITION OF THE PRINTING HOUSE OF THE TRINITY LAVRA OF ST. SERGIUS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the activity of the All-Russian Congress of the Clergy and the Laity, held in Moscow from June 1 to 12, 1917. At the congress the problem of the seizure of church property by the representatives of the Executive Committees of soldiers’ and workers’ deputies was considered. The most widespread response was given to the seizure of the printing house of the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, which occurred during the days of the congress work. The author introduces into the scientific use a number of previously unpublished archival documents.
