MADE FREAK AS THE OUTSIDER / THE OTHER

Abstract. The article introduces a made freak as a recognizable representative of subculture in the aspect of basic sociocultural binary opposition "the Insider - the Outsider". Distinguished elements of freak’s strangeness and developed model allow the author to identify and characterize him as the Outsider / the Other. The paper provides a synergetic analysis of individual’s reformatting into a made freak by creative transformation of appearance and thinking which predetermines his further scandalous behaviour as a challenge to stereotypic social behaviour of the surrounding people and all social system.
