Abstract. The article is devoted to the use of memoirs as a source on the history of Tambov rebellion. Practically not introduced into scientific use, memoirs in the former party archive of Tambov region, despite their well-known one-sidedness and bias, contain valuable characteristics of the participants of the rebellion, descriptions of forms and methods of the guerrilla war, recreate the picture of the rebellion in different settlements of Tambov province, show the level of the antagonists’ bitterness.
