SACRAL AND SECULAR MEANINGS OF EMPTINESS

Abstract. The author turns to the fundamental concept of ontology and metaphysics as a whole implicitly revealing both traditional, secular connotations of emptiness, and non-classical, sacral aspects of it. In the article a comparative analysis of eastern and western approaches to comprehension of emptiness is realized: if the latter interprets nothingness of emptiness, then the former identifies it with being, or rather with possibility of being. In conclusion, the researcher mentions the existential-anthropological dimension of emptiness that long ago became a dimension of our own inner world.
