FICTION TEXT IN RELIGIOUS CONTEXT (BY MATERIAL OF I. S. TURGENEV’S STORY «LIVING RELIC»)

Abstract. In the article the work content of «Living Relic» by I. S. Turgenev is interpreted from the positions of Orthodox Christianity that allows looking at the Russian classical writer’s work from another perspective different from literary tradition. The author pays the main attention to the spiritual life problems of the story’s heroine, questions of her soul qualities and religious idea development. The author also parallels between the life story of simple peasant, life description of Christian saints and great deeds of real heroines of the Russian history.
