Abstract.
The article examines the role of rewards in strengthening labour discipline at Ural enterprises in the 30s of the XX century. On the basis of archival material the author analyzes the main forms and methods of moral stimulation, such as “red and black boards”, “Book of Honor”, awarding orders, medals and special badges, transient banners. Particular attention is drawn to the use of the traditional forms of material rewards - bonuses, valuable gifts, and specific ones, typical for this period -resettlement in the best apartments, attachment to special shops and medical institutions, etc.
