Abstract.
The article deals with the problems of museum specialists’ training in the conditions of globalization transformations and the reforms of education system in Russia. On the basis of the analysis of the experience of the Department of Museology and Cultural Heritage of Saint Petersburg State Institute of Culture the author formulates the basic principles of the culturological content of educational programs on museology, emphasizes the role of innovative educational technologies in relation to the multi-level training of museum specialists. Changes in the world of modern museums cause the appearance of new museum professions, among which the curator wins growing recognition.
