Abstract. Modern children’s playgrounds as a non-institutional space come out as a meaningful center of urban childhood’s everyday life. The article aims to compare adults’ and children’s conceptions of a playground. The research methods included observation and photography, semi-standardized interviews with parents (N=15), children’s projective drawing methods. Adults and children - participants of the research - reside in the big and small towns of the Far East south.
