FORMS AND TYPES OF UNDERSTANDING IN CLASSICAL COGNITION: TYPOLOGY EXPERIENCE

Abstract.
The article considers the role of understanding procedures in the structure of scientific and, first of all, classical cognition. Hermeneutical procedures are considered as sense-revealing, sense-giving and sense-supposing ones and also such understanding forms as elucidation, interpretation and explanation are singled out. As the illustration the author considers the gnosiological structure of historical research. Special attention is paid to the questions of theory meaning and also of the correlation of the revealed senses and the senses supposed by the subject for the mentioned understanding forms. In conclusion the criterion of distinguishing between classical and natural-scientific cognition is formulated.
