CONSENSUS AND ANTAGONISM IN RELATIONAL AESTHETICS: ETHICAL TURN IN ACTUAL ART

Abstract. The author analyzes the nature of communication and inter-subjective relations in actual art by the example of relational aesthetics, concludes that contemporary artistic practice offers two models of social community formation: based on consensus and based on dissensus and antagonism; and shows that the latter, in its turn, is intended not for imaginary community formation, but for the collision and interaction with the Other.
