Abstract.
The author considers the influence of the article “On Sincerity in Literature” by V. M. Pomerantsev on public atmosphere in the USSR in the 50s of the ХХ
th century, mentions that one of the illustrations of the “New World” publication impact is numerous readers’ comments and letters to the editor of the journal, proves that the article by V. M. Pomerantsev led to the revival of the soviet society spiritual life, tells that it became apparent especially in discussions among students and creative intellectuals, and comes to the opinion that debates and arguments devoted to the discussion of the article “On Sincerity in Literature” are the evidence of new public atmosphere origin in the country.
