Abstract.
The author describes the principles of the practical mastering of the literary text of the vocal work of the XVI
th century by the musician, reveals and considers in detail the basic parameters of the difference between the primary source and the later editorial version, substantiates the necessity of working with facsimile partbooks in original notation, outlines the problem of the interaction between notation forms and the composer’s thinking, and suggests practical recommendations on the Renaissance repertoire mastering by the vocal ensemble.
