Abstract.
The article undertakes the attempt to reveal the authentic initiators of the creation of the first all-Russian institutional seminary protest association that appeared in Kazan at the beginning of the XX th century and is known as “Provisional Central Organizational Council of Seminarians”. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the contradictions presented in the few materials of the investigative case including the testimonies of the arrested members of the organization. The article is written primarily on the basis of previously unpublished sources.
