INFLUENCE OF KUYBYSHEV HYDROELECTRIC STATION ON TOWN-PLANNING DEVELOPMENT OF THE MIDDLE VOLGA REGION

Abstract.
In the article the stages of the hydroengineering building of Kuybyshev hydroelectric station in Samara Bend area - the designed one of 1927, the preparatory-building one of 1951, the final one of 1958 - are analyzed. The degree of the influence of the hydroelectric station on the transport, energy and town-planning development of the Middle Volga region is identified. The author comes to the conclusion that on the basis of the received energy supply sources the transition of the Middle Volga region from agrarian centre to industrial one is made and this results in intensive town-planning development.
