STATE OF WATER SUPPLY OF FIRE BRIGADES IN TOWNS OF RUSSIA AT THE END OF THE XIX - THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. In the article the problem of central water supply organization for taking fire-prevention measures in the Russian towns at the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century is considered. The comparative assessment of the state of fire-prevention water supply in the capitals and in the Russian provinces is given. The main sources of the water supply of fire brigades in the towns of Russia are noted. The author draws a conclusion about the reasons of the unsatisfactory state of fire-prevention water supply in Russia at the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century.
