Abstract.
The Russian art market, being at the stage of formation, is of great interest from the viewpoint of science. In the article the author examines the specifics of the formation of a regional art market by the example of Rostov-on-Don. As it is noted, the activity of the educational institutions of artistic type plays an important role in this process. In the paper the author presents historical data on the formation of artistic education in the Don region and its influence on the artistic life of the city and the region. Summing it up, the author introduces structured conclusions on how the system of professional education determines the vector of the development of a regional art market.
