Abstract.
The article considers various approaches to the definition of the notion “anthropocentrism”, and analyzes the influence of anthropocentrism attitudes on the formation of optimistic and pessimistic views on the future of technology and scientific and technological progress. The basic characteristics of technicism and anti-technicism are identified. It is concluded that the presence of the worldviews of technicism and anti-technicism is another manifestation of human’s bio-social nature.
