Abstract. The article substantiates the thesis that as opposed to knowledge delusion is characterized by discrepancy between the perceived truth of the image and its gnoseological content. Being an attribute of cognition, delusion isn’t realized by the subject of cognition as delusion, thus in each moment the subject of cognition doesn’t know when his/her knowledge ends and ignorance begins, which he/she takes for knowledge.
